This started out as just a demo compilation of old recordings, but it feels odd to call it a demo after all the time I've spent with it and the personal meaning I've invested in it. Let's call it a demo-ish EP.

The title was chiefly inspired by climate change, but there are other fires burning. We are now witnessing the cleansing fire of social upheaval and revolution against the banal evils of racism and fascism, a burn-off that will leave fertile ground for the future. The creeping flame of over-consumption is bearing down on us, and will likely overtake us before the end of the century if left unchecked. The fire of capitalism, the mother flame of so many other fires, continues to destroy even in its sputtering death throes. Above all, there are signal fires of hope, however small and dim.
